Welcome to Part 3 of my 1989 Batman Batmobile Scale model car build. Today I work on lighting the headlights with Light Emitting Diodes. The space for the bulbs is very tight so I chose to use pre-wire surface mount LED’s (SMD’s).
It took a couple attempts to get the headlight illuminated. At first I tried 3mm light emitting diodes (LED’s). I wasn’t happy with the results, so I pulled the headlights back out and went with the surface mount LED’s, or SMD’s.
For the headlights I used 3020 pre-wired SMD’s. For the tail lights I used the smaller 0603 SMD’s. Both types I purchased from Jerry at HDA Modelworx.
I’m Jason Marshall and I hope you enjoy today’s episode and thank you for watching.
